MATCH BOOKS

Every so often I get the urge to challenge myself and draw, or in this case watercolour something 'realistically'. This dosn't come naturally as part of my artistic practice, sitting still and focusing my concentration on one thing can be difficult. I find it easier to practice imagination rather then accuracy. The end result of practicing accuracy during these studies was satisfying because it felt like I was getting better at stealing and changing what the item was. These watercolour studies of book covers ended up turning into two larger projects after the residency, one titled Narrative Dementia and the other Denouement. If you would like to know more about these two projects visit my regular online portfolio, a link can be found on the About the Artist page.

The matchbook studies are ongoing, and may still develope into a formal project.
